Spännande föreläsningar väntar under veckan. Bilden är tagen under promotionen 2019 då Lena Fries Gedin blev hedersdoktor.
I samband med promoveringsveckan bjuder Uppsala universitet in till öppna föreläsningar och panelsamtal med årets nya hedersdoktorer. Bredden av ämnen är stor − hedersdoktorerna kommer bland annat att tala om sociala medier, kommunikation i kristid och vad som leder till att man får astma.
Vid doktorspromotionen 27 januari installeras också de nya hedersdoktorerna. I år är det 24 personer som utnämnts till hedersdoktorer efter att ha gjort framstående vetenskapliga insatser eller på annat sätt främjat forskningen vid universitetet. Några av dem kommer hit dagarna innan promotionen för att bjuda på föreläsningar och delta i seminarier.
Program:
24/1, kl. 15.15-18.00: Offentlig kunskapshantering i pandemier och andra kriser
Ulrika Björkstén, ny hedersdoktor vid historisk-filosofiska fakulteten, föreläser på temat "Konsten att vara tydlig med ett osäkert budskap". Föreläsningen följs av ett panelsamtal med Ulrika Björkstén, Folke Tersman, Anders Björkman, Maja Fjaestad och Anders Ekström. Föreläsningen och panelsamtalet hålls på svenska.

25/1, kl. 15.15-18: Folkbibliotekens demokrati- och folkbildningsuppdrag – vad betyder det på 2000-talet?
Föreläsning med Ragnar Audunson, ny hedersdoktor vid historisk-filosofiska fakulteten. Efter föreläsningen presenterar Kerstin Rydbeck en nordisk antologi som knyter an till föreläsningens tema. Evenemanget hålls på norska och svenska.

25/1, kl. 15.15-17: What can we learn from comparative research? Empirical and theoretical reflections from the educational field
Föreläsning med professor Barbara Schulte, ny hedersdoktor vid fakulteten för utbildningsvetenskaper. Föreläsningen ges på svenska.
25/1, kl. 17-18: Academic outreach via social media – from medicine and politics to football analytics
Vad finns det för möjligheter och utmaningar med att använda sociala medier för att sprida kunskap till allmänheten? Panelsamtal med Agnes Wold, ny hedersdoktor vid teknisk-naturvetenskapliga fakulteten, Ashok Swain och David Sumpter. Panelsamtalet hålls på engelska.

26/1, kl. 10-12: Hedersdoktorskollokvium i fysik
Institutionen för fysik bjuder in till tre föreläsningar med de nya hedersdoktorerna.
